Caulking Bathroom Door Frame Completed

Yesterday, we wrote about the absence of caulking between the door frame and wall of our shared bathroom, leaving the up to 1/4 inch gap exposed and the entire job looking unfinished.

On 01-NOV-08 we installed the CSA approved Cansolair Model RA 240 Solar Max solar air heating / collector device to help heat our home this winter and beyond.

Solar air heating devices can frequently be installed by the average home owner themselves. We did!

As we wrote in this article this screen-like energy conservation device reduced the sun's UV rays entering our home so much that it caused our digital thermometer's temperature reading to actually

#1 Tip - Energy Audits

We are huge fans of having an Energy Efficiency Evaluation (i.e. energy audit) conducted on any home, regardless of size or age. We learned much from our energy audit under the ecoENERGY Residential Retrofit program.

Our 21 year old home's EnerGuide rating is 70 (out of 100) from our energy audit report. We can achieve an EnerGide rating of 80 by undertaking all of the energy audit's recommendations. What is your home's EnerGuide rating? If you don't know, shouldn't you?
