From time to time we are asked to review products received at no cost from suppliers; this time it was an aluminum extension ladder perfect for the home owner.
The aluminum compact extension ladder from Werner (us.wernerco.com) was a product which we could use right away so I said yes.
This extension ladder has a lot features to like.
The first is the obvious triple ladder construction; that is, there is not one but two components to this unique extension ladder
That means while the total fully extended height is 16 feet, it reduces to a small 6 foot in length.
As well, with the reduced compacted size, it’s ease of carry is further assisted by this handle on the side.
At my home, the Werner compact extension ladder will be put to use hanging the outdoor Christmas lights next weekend.
Today, I used it to check the furnace filter. Check the furnace filter? Yes.
We are currently living in a rental house while our new home is being constructed. This unique furnace is situated in the garage (I am used to furnaces being in the house’s basement … yet this house has no basement).
As well, the location of the air filter is up around 9 feet or so off the ground in the middle of the duct work above the furnace itself as shown in the picture below.
This small step stool which I brought with me was too small; however, the Werner compact extension ladder is perfect.
Here you can see it positions with both of the movable components being used to increase the height of the extension ladder.
Like any ladder you need to be sure it is securely placed on a level surface, as indicated in the picture below:
With that, I was easily and safely able to climb up the Werner compact extension ladder to discover that there was not one but two air filters being used by the rental house’s furnace with dimensions of 16 X 20 X 2!
Thank you Werner for providing a wonderfully useful and unique home product.
I wonder to there will be a few of these under (OK, beside) the Christmas tree this holiday season for some lucky recipients?
