As we enjoyed our stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, we have written about our visits to:
- Epcot theme park in Walt Disney World
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park in Walt Disney World
- Magic Kingdom theme park in Walt Disney World
Today we had a non-park day; a time to relax from the stress of parks on consecutive days as well as a time to recharge with two more attempts on consecutive days to stay to park closing to see the various laser & firework shows.
So, what to write about?
Here’s an exciting topic, don’t you think?
Doing Laundry at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
What, doing laundry is not an exciting vacation activity
Well, it was actually pretty cool for me this trip.
Well, our room is just a few steps from the location of the free, yes free, laundry room. It is located on the first floor of the BoardWalk Villas.
Sure, you have to bring your own detergent / fabric softener or purchase them on site, but use of the machines is free.
What type of washer and dryer machines?
Pretty nice ones I would say.
They have all the bells and whistles, pretty rare for many free to use clothes washing machines. What I like is that these LG models not only are front loading to save on water usage but these tell you the estimated number of minutes until your load is finished; in the above picture you can see that my laundry load has 51 minutes left.
As well both the dryers and washing machines have instructions on how to use them posted on the wall immediately above the machines. I found this quite useful.
Clothes Dryers at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
While there are three clothes washing machines there are only two dryers (even though there is space and the electrical hookups for 3).
These LG brand clothes dryers are just as new as their clothes washing machine cousins.
What if you were in one of those 4th floor villas way down the hall and didn’t want to shlep back and forth between the ground or 1st floor laundry room and your’s?
Well, quite nicely there is a working flat screen television available for your enjoyment!
Nicely done I’d say.
