Yesterday we wrote about enjoying several of the different pavilions within Epcot’s World Showcase here in Walt Disney World. Today we review our second full day here at the House of Mouse, namely Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Morning Before Arriving At Disney’s Hollywood Studios
As I was up for a couple of hours in the middle of the night (who knows why) I was glad that we had planned for a sleep late day. I first went and once again used the gym at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas before breakfast. Here’s the view looking out past the top of the treadmill out the windows onto the court yard of the BoardWalk deluxe resort:
Then after getting our act together, we talked from Disney’s BoardWalk Villas to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
It is about a mile and a quarter. It took us about 15 minutes in a very slow, leisurely walk on the paved walking path along the river across from the Swan and Dolphin hotels.

Upon our arrival, we went and obtained fast passes for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, a family classic must-do. While we were waiting we watched the current Disney Rocks stage show.
Then it was time for The Little Mermaid.
Yes it is a classic which doesn’t disappoint. And yes, no flash photography was used.
Next up, our lunch at the Sci-Fi Drive-In Theatre.
The food was ‘ok’ but as someone told me the atmosphere is not to be missed; they could be right.
Next, this was followed by another classic that we had not seen in years; that’s right … Muppets 3D. What a classic, just like the guys in the balcony! (too bad it was in 3D causing the blurry pic’s)
Then we found our way to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
We had front row seats, what a treat! Yes the Belle in the above picture is a real girl, although I understand that some people have taken to naming their pets after this Disney character.
Even though it was only around 5 pm we had had enough.
After returning to the room about an hour later we went out to dinner at the ESPN Zone on the BoardWalk. A friend recommended their hamburgers which my daughter had and said it was indeed delicious. I’ll add some pic’s of our meal at the ESPN Zone tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the Magic Kingdom and a late night with us trying to see the Electric Light Parade; so excited about that one!
