As we have written about previously, The Home Depot in the USA is in the middle of a Renew and Redo Your Bath event, hence our $200 Home Depot Gift Card Giveaway.
There are a bundle (in the thousands!) of bathroom accessories whose prices have been reduced by 20% as part of this event.
For us, we like simple. And our most of our bathrooms were renovated only 4 years ago or so.
However, we did have a need to redo something in one of our bathrooms.
Take a look at the picture below:
What’s wrong with that picture?
The toilet paper holder is fine; its just that one of the members of our family has a hard time changing it as you can see. What about a a toilet paper holder which is much easier to use?
Remember how a couple of weeks ago I was in Cheyenne, Wyoming? The above picture was taken outside the State Capital. The building in the background, called the Herschler building, was where I was teaching for three days.
Well, in this above picture of one of the specialty themed bathrooms assembled in the Cheyenne, Wyoming Home Depot store you can see a different type of toilet paper holder on the right where only one end is anchored to the wall. The toilet paper roll can simply be slipped on and slipped off the opposite end of the bathroom accessory.
Now I do like that style of toilet paper holder, however, it would not go with the style of the other bathroom accessories in our own en suite bathroom, like this double robe hook.
And, yes, in case you didn’t notice the style of the door to the left of the double robe hook in the above picture is called, you guessed it, Cheyenne (by Masonite)! Coincidence or what? We purchased it and many others like it at The Home Depot about 4 years ago during our major home renovation project. Yes, there are lots of articles here at DailyHomeRenoTips.com about that major effort if you are interested; simply use the various categories for your own area of interest.
Now, what I wanted was a toilet paper holder in the same style as the current one which would pivot. By pivot, I mean that it has both ends secured to the wall yet the bar upon which the toilet paper roll sits is only secured to one of the ends; this allows you to lift the other end of the bar upward to remove the used roll and add on a fresh roll. See the picture at the end of this article.
If you go on line here is the link to one in the same style, Moen Banbury, that pivots. It is even on sale of 20% for $18.20 (from $22.75) for the Chrome finishing. Since the other accessories in our en suite are brushed nickel, like the one below, we would need the same finishing.
The brushed nickel Moen Banbury pivoting toilet paper holder, model Y2608BN goes for $26.99, sadly, not on sale at this time.
So, now that we have the pivoting toilet paper holder, I’m all set to install it.
And, that is where we pick things up next time. It is easy to so; one just needs to take it one step at a time.
