Number 278, Check Along Exterior Walls For Air Leaks. The home heating money saving idea here is once again simple.

On a cold day, simply run  your bare hand along any and every exterior wall in your home. If you feel cool air entering your home with your hand then you have an air leak which is costing you money through higher home heating bills.

If you find one, write down its location so you can collect the locations of all your home’s air leaks along the exterior walls and plan a course of action to seal them.

This is not a one time home energy savings activity; rather, do this at least one each winter as you never know when such air leaks might occur.

INSTALL COST – Free INSTALL COMPLEXITY – Simple

FREQUENCY – Periodic FINANCIAL PAYBACK – Moderate
