Yesterday, we wrote about the absence of caulking between the door frame and wall of our shared bathroom, leaving the up to 1/4 inch gap exposed and the entire job looking unfinished.
For comparison purposes, here is a picture from yesterday along part of the frame showing the gap which should have been finished with caulking.
Now, look at the difference once the caulking is applied.
It is not hard task or one which takes more than a few minutes.
Just make sure you have a damp cloth and a few pieces of paper towel as you use your finger to smooth out the caulking. I use the pieces of paper towel to clean my finger and the damp cloth to clean the part of the wall upon which excess caulking finds itself during the smoothing process.
Now the installation of the new door and door frame looks finished, albeit two years later. And, you can add this to your collection of home maintenance tips.
