Energy Conservation Contest Winners

October 13th, 2009 · No Comments

Our home energy conservation contest wrapped up over the weekend with all three randomly selected winners confirming that they indeed met our contestant eligibility requirements.

It is interesting that most of our past contest winners have been located in the United States whereas all three of our contest winners this time reside in Canada; random is random I guess.

If you recall, to enter contestants had to correctly identify the conservation tip number 306 from our Un-Official Guide to Home Energy and Water Conservation, which contains more than 500 money saving tips and energy conservation tips combined to reduce a household’s consumption of electricity, home heating, water heating, home cooling and clean water resources.

The correct answer was Caulking (window / exterior door frame).

We hope that you will return often to go through our Un-Official Guide to see what suggestions may be useful for you in your own household to reduce your electric, natural gas, home heating oil and water utility bills to save you money (yes, some folks call them money saving tips) and reduce the amount of non-renewable energy or clean water resources you are consuming.

Remember, the Un-Official Guide to Home Energy and Water Conservation is completely free for you to access on our site and contains:

  • 500+ home energy and clean water conservation tips
  • 400+ tips which are simple and easy to do
  • 275+ tips which cost you absolutely nothing to do
  • 115+ tips which cost you just a little to do
  • 120+ clean water conservation tips
  • 115+ electricity conservation tips
  • 110+ home heating conservation tips
  •   80+ home cooling conservation tips

Most of these suggestions provided to us from real people all across North America can be used in the home or even in small businesses. The Un-Official Guide can even be used by local clubs as well as schools to educate students on how easy it is to reduce energy and water consumption at home, in the school, at the library, etc., and for them to themselves teach their parents. ;)

We would like to thank both DAP, the caulking and related home and building products folks, for providing their energy conservation packages to be sent to our three giveaway winners. These products can be use in both home renovation and home maintenance activities.

We would also like to thank Amy Montgomery, of IMRE, for coordinating with DAP and for sending out to the winners their prizes.

 Ok, so, who won?

The three winners of the DAP energy saving packages are:

Vicki deMunck of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada

Lori Honke of La Salle, Manitoba, Canada

Joyce Shane, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Congratulations to all.

Until next time.
