Replacement Front Door - Again?

April 10th, 2009 · No Comments

Last year, we write a rather extensive series of articles, over 30, about our experiences with replacing our front entrance door as part of our home renovations. You can access all of these articles, yes with lots and lots of pictures, here in our replacement front door summary article.

Other than painting the inside wood frame every now and again, I was sure after our experience that we would not have to worry about that door again.

Ooops.

Here is what our finished replacement of the replacement for the original front door looked like for the past several months:

We quite like it. Here it is again just a few weeks ago.

Don’t see any difference? Look closer.

Fascia and Front Door Frame Separation

I said, closer.

Extreme Fascia Door Frame Separation

Yep, the darn fascia immediately above the door frame was bulking, again.

This was one of the initial problems we had with the replacement door back a year ago which  caused us to eventually have this door, the replacement for the replacement, installed.

How the heck could this have happened after everything we went through?

What will happen next?

Tune in tomorrow.
