Home Energy Conservation Tip Contest - Last Day To Enter

December 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment

It ends at 11:59 pm ET Friday December 5, 2008.

After 3 weeks, our modest attempt to raise the consciousness of energy conservation in the home by running a small contest comes to an end.

We have received lots of entries.

Some have been repeats of energy conservation tips already on our current list within our Energy Conservation page. And that’s OK if you are OK with a chance to receive either the 2nd or 3rd place prizes. After all, our mission is to get more home owners to think more about ways to conserve energy in their own homes.

However, if you want the first place prize, as well as all the glory and bragging rights that some with being the winner, you must submit an energy conservation tip for the home that we ourselves have not yet thought of.

It can be a serious tip or a funny tip; it could be a tip that anyone can do or a complex one that an average home owner might need the help of an expert to implement. It could be a tip to save on heating bills in the winter; or, cooling expenses in the summer; or, on water or electricity consumption all year round. What ever works for you will work for us.

Have you entered yet?

Only entered once or twice? Why? Surely you can come up with more tips that you or your friends use to conserve energy consumption in the home, right?

So far, here are some statistics on entries we have received during the first 20 days of this three week contest:

Remember the prizes to be won?

First prize is a $100 Home Depot Gift Card Home Energy Conservation Tip Contest - Last Day To Enter.

Second prize is a $25 Home Depot Gift Card Home Energy Conservation Tip Contest - Last Day To Enter.

Third prize is also a $25 Home Depot Gift Card Home Energy Conservation Tip Contest - Last Day To Enter.

All you have to do is to go our Energy Conservation page and use the form thereon to enter your energy conservation tip that can be used in the home.

Our goal is to have so many new energy conservation tips from those who enter our contest that we can increase our existing listing of these tips for the home owner to more than 200.  So far, on our own and from learning from others before the contest started we have come up with 101 tips.

So, what are you waiting for? Don’t worry. To receive your prize, we will not be asking you to give us your personal mailing address. We will have the nice folks at Home Depot contact the winners directly who will send out the prizes for us.

Go ahead, enter today. There is just one, that’s right just one, day left in our contest …. and today is that day. Once we have an opportunity to verify that the selected winning contestants meet the contest entrant rules, i.e. resident of the U.S.A. 18 years of age and older, we will reveal the winners and their winning home energy conservation tips.

Ceiling fans conserve alot. Heat rises so if you keep your cieling fans on low blowing downward it helps keeping your rooms warm and lowers your heating bill.
