Once we had removed all of the shrubs and other plants which were not going to be part of our new remodeled garden, the next activity we did was to prepare the part of one of the side gardens in the back of the house to receive the ground cover plants from the front. The ground cover from the front that was very healthy and thriving was in a little more sun that the target area in the back, but not much more. To prepare the back garden area to receive the transplanted ground cover plants I simply used a rake to clear away the debris and to loosen up the soil. I then removed the two different types of ground cover from the front and placed them in the prepared area in the side garden in the back of the house. Lastly, a good soaking with the garden hose immediately upon completion of the transplant and again a few hours later should help the ground cover plants in their new location.
