Here is what we will be using instead. It’s called the Jardin Multi-Purpose Cart, or the Super’Pro Chariot….take your pick. I purchased it at Home Depot for just under $50 (try buying a wheel barrel for that price!). So that is advantage one.

Look at it. Two wheels in the back, not the front. This very simply change leads to a dramatic benefit.
No more lifting. With a wheel barrel you have to lift it from behind placing strain on your back. Here you simply pull down on the handle and push or pull it. What a difference!

It has two wheels, not the traditional one wheel of wheel barrels for much, much greater stability. No more tipping over the contents of the wheel barrel because the single wheel hit a rock.
As well, the handle had a total of 4 holes (2 on each side) for you to place your gardening tools to take them with you (as shown in the picture of the product label above.
How do you remove the contents? Easy. Just tip it forward or backward. Very easy.
The product label says it has a maximum capacity of 6 cubit feet which seems like the same or similar size of any wheel barrel I have used in the past.

And, other than the axle of the wheel, it is made our of recyclable plastic so it won’t rust.
The wheel won’t go flat as it is made out of plastic too.
I have used this already and think this is one great garden product.
So, if you are the market for a new wheel barrel or want to do something about strain on your back with the one you currently use, think about putting down $50 (plus taxes) and getting one of these. You will not regret it!

Is it sturdy enough to move 3 or 4 cinder blocks?

Hi Anonymous,
Nice to see you back here again
Is it sturdy enough to move 3 or 4 cinder blocks?
I managed to find the product lable but it does not give a weight capacity. Personally, I don’t see why not, especially as the picture on the product label shows the item filled with gravel.
However, I would suggest you check out the manufacturer’s web site or look for it and ask at your local retailer who carries it or a similar product.
I hope that helps,
Dan

Have you taken it off the level pavement yet?
- when you do, the little plastic wheels will sink in the dirt.

Hi Mark,
Yes, I use it all around the yard.
It has not sunk ‘in the dirt’ at all.
It is a wonderful alternative to a wheel barrel.
Dan
