It uses similar technology that the solar charged garden lights in the past few years use to obtain the power from the sun by way of a very small solar panel on top of the unit. So, I decided to place this product in the garden which receives the most sun throughout the day in our backyard yet is also close to one of the areas of our lawn which the nasty rodents had dug up.
