This web site had pictures of various rooms in a typical home and all the different areas where light bulbs tend to be used. So, it got me thinking about what areas of our house contained incandescent (high energy usage) type of light bulbs that were candidates to be replaced. Por isso, ele me comecei a pensar que áreas da nossa casa contidas incandescente (alto consumo de energia) tipo de lâmpadas que eram candidatos a ser substituído.

I am all about saving money, as my financial background will attest. Estou todos os cerca de poupar dinheiro, já que a minha situação financeira irá atestar.

As well, I have children (early 20’s). Como assim, eu tenho filhos (precoce 20's). I want their world and their (if we are so blessed) children to grow up in a world that does not have environmental issues because I was too near sighted and lazy to do at least simply things to reduce my home’s consumption of non-renewable resources like oil, natural gas, water and so on. Quero que o seu mundo e os seus (se somos tão abençoado) as crianças a crescer num mundo que não tem problemas ambientais, porque eu era muito próximo avistado e preguiçosa para fazer coisas simples, pelo menos para a redução do consumo de minha casa não - recursos renováveis, como petróleo, gás natural, água e assim por diante.

So, I walk around the house on the weekend. Então, eu caminhar ao redor da casa com o fim de semana. And, look what I found. E, olha o que eu encontrei. The billiard table that my youngest daughter and her boyfriend had been using when he was over last weekend. Geeeze, I never thought about those because I personally am a terrible billiard player (my wife’s father beat me 7 to 1 during the New Year holidays!) and I am sufficiently busy with the various home renovation and energy conservation projects around the house to have the luxury of time to play. Geeeze, eu nunca pensei, porque aqueles Pessoalmente, sou um jogador terrível bilhar (esposa do meu pai me bater 7 a 1 durante o Ano Novo nas férias!) E eu sou suficientemente ocupado com as diversas home renovação e conservação da energia projetos ao redor da casa para ter o luxo de tempo para jogar.

So, here is what I did. Assim, aqui está o que eu fiz. I obtained 14 Watt CFL pot light type of energy saving light bulbs that have a 7 year warranty, are made Lead Free, and are to last 8,000 hours per the packaging (7 to 10 times the life of non-CFL bulbs). I used them to replace the current very old bulbs in the lights over the pool table.  The picture above shows the 3 lights on the left with the old bulbs (which were very old….installed by the prior owner) while the 3 lights on the right are using these new CFL’s. Eu usei-los para substituir os actuais muito antigas lâmpadas na iluminação durante a piscina tabela. A foto acima mostra o 3 luzes da esquerda com as antigas lâmpadas (que eram muito antigos…. Instalado pelo proprietário anterior), enquanto que as 3 luzes acesas à direita estão usando essas novas CFL's.

Notice in the picture above two things. Aviso na foto acima duas coisas. First, you can see the old light bulbs protruding from the lights on the left while you cannot in the lights on the right. Primeiro, você pode ver as antigas lâmpadas de protrusão as luzes da esquerda enquanto você não pode nos as luzes do lado direito. This means less glare for the player. Isso significa menos brilho para o jogador.

Second, there was no reduction in clarity or brightness. Em segundo lugar, não houve redução da clareza ou brilho. And, as I have learned, this particular model is not the brightest of this particular brand line; rather, it was the middle of the brightness level called ‘Bright White’. The brighter level is called ‘Daylight’. O nível mais brilhante é chamado de "Daylight".

This is an excellent, I think, area for CFL’s. Esta é uma excelente, penso eu, para a área da CFL. As I have come to learn, CFL’s are the most beneficial if they are on for at least 15 minutes or so. Over time and by using more CFL type of energy saving light bulbs in our home our electricity bill will continue to go down. Ao longo do tempo e ao utilizar mais CFL tipo de lâmpadas economizadoras de energia na nossa casa a nossa electricidade vai continuar a descer. Which my wallet will appreciate! Que irão apreciar a minha carteira!

Oh, and if our future grand children ever ask me “Grampa, what did you do to help conserve energy in the past?” I will be able to tell the truth that at least I tried to do my part, even if it was a little at a time. Ah, e se o nosso futuro grandioso crianças nunca me pergunta "Grampa, o que você fez para ajudar a conservar energia no passado?" Eu serei capaz de dizer a verdade, que pelo menos eu tentei fazer minha parte, mesmo que ele era um pouco de cada vez.
