Now that the old door and door frame are out, the installation of the new door frame and door can begin.
Dave and his assistant take the door off of the truck and proceed to place it in the door opening in the front of the house.
And, yes, that is snow in the picture below. Don’t let a little snow stop you from installing a new front door!
Notice in the pictures below the areas where the insulating foam sealant is used to fill up the spaces between the new door frame and the wall at the front of the house.
Once the door frame is affixed to the opening, the insulating foam sealant can be applied to the open spaces between the frame the the wall. The sufficiency of insulation will directly relate to how ’sealed’ the door opening will be. Be sure to take the time to check and recheck that all spaces between the frame the the wall have sufficient insulation, as shown in the pictures below:
