Yesterday we wrote about our efforts to apply weather stripping to the enclosure of our electrical panel. Ontem escrevi sobre os nossos esforços no sentido de aplicar as condições meteorológicas para a remoção do nosso recinto painel elétrico. This was because the energy audit we received in the late fall indicated a massive amount of cold air entering the house from that area. Isso foi porque a auditoria energética que recebemos no outono indicou uma enorme quantidade de ar frio que entram na casa daquela área. This is bad news in both the winter and in the summer as it causes heated air to leave the home in the winter and cooled air to leave in the summer causing the heater and air conditioner, respectively, to work harder and longer than they should costing us money and consuming non-renewable resources. Isto é mau, tanto no inverno como no verão, uma vez que provoca ar aquecido a sair de casa no inverno e arrefecido a ar sair no Verão provocando o aquecimento e ar condicionado, respectivamente, para trabalhar mais e mais tempo do que deveria custar - nos dinheiro e consumir recursos não renováveis.

We left off yesterday with two issues. Nós parou ontem com duas questões. The first issue is that the door on the right of the electric panel enclosure does not close flush with the enclosure frame as shown in the pic’s below. A primeira questão é a de que a porta à direita do painel elétrico recinto não flush estreita com o recinto frame como mostrado no pic's abaixo. The result will be quite frankly a waste of time and effort to apply the weather stripping if this gap remains. O resultado será muito francamente um desperdício de tempo e esforços para aplicar as condições meteorológicas stripping se esta lacuna permanece.

The second issue was that there was a noticeable gab between the two doors when they are closed as shown below. O segundo problema era que houvesse um gab perceptível entre ambas as portas quando estão fechados como mostrado abaixo.

What solution did we come up with. Que solução que é que se chegou a. Well, a simple one.  I like simple. Pois bem, uma simples. Eu gosto simples. What we did was to apply the vertical weather stripping on the left side of the right hand door slightly protruding beyond the door. O que fizemos foi a de aplicar as condições meteorológicas stripping vertical do lado esquerdo da porta do lado direito um pouco salientes para além da porta. Not, much mind you; just enough so when the two doors would be closed together the vertical weather stripping on both doors would connect. Não, muito mais que você mente; só assim o suficiente quando as duas portas seriam fechadas em conjunto as condições meteorológicas stripping verticais em ambas as portas iria ligar.

Not only did this deal with the gap between the two doors, but it also kept the door on the right side flush with the enclosure frame. Não só esta lidar com o fosso entre as duas portas, mas também manteve a porta do lado direito nivelada com o recinto frame. A win-win for sure. A win-win, com toda a certeza. Notice the black weather stripping between the two doors in the picture below. Aviso a preto meteorológicas stripping entre as duas portas na figura abaixo.

The result is that no longer do I feel any cold air rushing out from the electrical panel enclosure. O resultado é que já não posso sentir qualquer ar frio apressando para fora a partir do painel elétrico recinto. What a difference. Qual a diferença.

And, remember that weather stripping is important in both the winter and the summer. E, lembre-se que meteorológicas stripping é importante, tanto no inverno e de verão.
