Let’s talk about weather stripping. لنتكلم عن تجريد الاحوال الجوية. What is weather stripping? ما هو الطقس تجريد؟ It is nothing more than a strip of material applied (using a peel and stick approach) to an opening of a door, window, etc. to prevent cold outside air entering and hot inside air leaving a home in the winter, the reverse in the summer (hot outside air entering and cool inside air leaving), causing the home owner to incur more heating bills in the winter and cooling bills in the summer. انه ليس أكثر من شريط من المواد التطبيقيه (باستخدام قشور ونهج العصا) لفتح الباب ، نافذة ، الخ لمنع دخول الهواء البارد خارج وداخل الهواء الساخن وترك المنزل في فصل الشتاء ، فإن العكس في الصيف (خارج الهواء الساخن والبارد ودخول الهواء داخل ترك) ، مما ادى الى تكبد صاحب المنزل اكثر فواتير التدفءه في الشتاء والتبريد للفواتير في فصل الصيف.

Ever since we had the energy audit back in the fall of 2007 (of which we have written many articles - see our ECOENERGY page), we became informed that there a massive amount of cold air entering the house from the outside via the electrical panel in the basement. منذ ان كان لنا عودة لمراجعة حسابات الطاقة في خريف 2007 (من التي لدينا كتب العديد من المقالات -- ecoenergy أنظر صفحة) ، أصبحنا على علم ان هناك كمية هاءله من الهواء البارد يدخل المنزل من الخارج عن طريق الكهرباءيه في الفريق الطابق السفلي. OK, let’s start with the cabinet enclosure for the electric panel pictured below. حسنا ، لنبدأ مع ضميمه لمجلس الوزراء الكهربائي الفريق المصوره ادناه. Actually, the prior owners of our house did a nice job we think. في الواقع ، من قبل اصحاب بيتنا لم جميلة الوظائف التي نفكر بها.

Now, my first thought was to place the weather stripping along the inside frame. الآن ، فكرتي الاولى هي وضع تجريد الطقس على طول داخل الاطار. What I noticed was that the depth of the weather stripping was such that it did not fill the space between the frame and the doors. ما لاحظت هو ان عمق الطقس تجريد من النوع الذي لا ملء الفضاء بين الاطار والابواب. If you look closely at the strip on the right you can see that there would remain part of the ridge through which the cold air would freely enter, thus making the weather strip useless unless I applied one strip on top of the other. اذا كنت النظر عن كثب في الشريط عن الحق يمكنك ان ترى ان هناك من شأنه ان يبقى جزءا من سلسلة من التلال عن طريق الهواء البارد الذي من شأنه ان يدخل بحرية ، مما جعل الشريط الطقس عديمة الفاءده ما لم يكن الشريط الاول ينطبق على واحد فوق الآخر.

So, I had another idea. ذلك ، كان لي فكرة اخرى. Why not just put the weather stripping on the doors themselves? لماذا ليست مجرد وضع الطقس تجريد انفسهم على الابواب؟ Since part of each door was against the wooden frame of the enclosure, if I applied that approach I should be successful. وبالنظر الى أن جزءا من كل باب كان ضد الإطار الخشبي من الضميمه ، اذا كان لي ان يطبق هذا النهج ينبغي ان تكون ناجحه. All I had to do was to ensure that I did not leave any gaps to allow the cold air from the outside enter the house (in the winter). جميع اضطررت الى القيام به هو ضمان ان الأول لم يترك اي ثغرة للسماح للهواء باردا من الخارج من دخول المنزل (في الشتاء).

So, I proceeded to do just that. وبالتالي ، فانني شرعت في تحقيق ذلك. I ensured that the weather stripping was positions such that both doors would close flush onto the enclosure frame yet would not let any air out. اود التأكد من ان الطقس كان تجريد مثل هذه المواقف التي ستغلق كل الأبواب الاحمرار على العلبه بعد الاطار لن تترك اي الجوية.

However, even doing that I noticed that the door on the right did not close flush. ومع ذلك ، وحتى نفعل ذلك لاحظت ان الباب على الحق لا قريبة من الاحمرار.
