Well, January 8th arrives and we receive a phone call around 9 am. وأيضا ، كانون الثاني / يناير ونحن في الثامن وصول اتصالا هاتفيا حوالى الساعة 9 صباحا. It is the installer. ومن المثبت. He states that he is running late but should be at our house by 10:30-ish. ويذكر انه فى اواخر يركض ولكن يجب ان تكون في بيتنا عن طريق 10:30 - ish. I remind him that I told Paul of the installation company who is contracted by the big box building supply retailer to actually install our door that I have to leave at 2 pm so the installation has to be done by that time. وأود ان اذكره بان بول قلت من تركيب شركة من هو الكبير الذي تعاقد معه بناء الاطار العرض الى البائع فعلا تثبيت ابوابنا ان اجد لزاما علي ان يغادر في الساعة 2 حتى تركيب الذى ينبغى القيام به بحلول ذلك الوقت.
10:30 comes and goes. 10:30 ويأتي ويذهب.
11:00 comes and goes. 11:00 ويأتي ويذهب.
11:15 comes and goes. 11:15 ويأتي ويذهب.
I call the installer back on his cell phone. اعطى الكلمه لعودة المثبت عن الهاتف الخليوي. He does not answer it. الجواب هو لا.
11:30 comes and goes. 11:30 ويأتي ويذهب.
I’m getting very nervous. انني اتلقى عصبي جدا. We were told by both Paul and the installer who called that the installation should take about 2 hours, accounting for any unforseen issues. وقد قيل لنا من جانب كل من بول والمثبت من دعا الى ان تركيب ينبغي ان تأخذ حوالى 2 ساعة ، اي حساب المسائل غير المتوقعة. I have to leave at 2 pm for the airport. أجد لزاما علي ان يغادر في الساعة 2 للمطار.
11:45 comes. ويأتي 11:45.
I call the building supply company. اعطى الكلمه لبناء شركة الامداد. Why not Paul of the installation company? لماذا لا بول من تركيب الشركة؟ Well, my contract is with the building supply company, not Paul’s installation company. حسنا ، هو عقدي مع شركة بناء العرض ، وليس بولس تركيب شركة.
I finally am able to speak to someone who told me that the installation is not going to happen to day. وأخيرا أشعر أنني قادرة على ان تتحدث لشخص ما قيل لي من ان تركيب لن يحدث الى اليوم. Apparently the installers do not already have the door, door frame, etc. with them the night before the installation. ويبدو ان التركيب لا يملكون الباب ، الباب الاطار ، وما معهم الليلة قبل التثبيت. Instead, they go to the building supply retailer the morning of the installation to pick up the door, frame, materials and so on. وبدلا من ذلك ، أذهب الى بائع بناء العرض صباح تركيب لالتقاط الباب ، الاطار ، والمواد وما الى ذلك. Once there, the installer looked at the door and the measurements and proceeded to tell the building supply company that there was an incorrect threshold part with the door. مرة واحدة هناك ، المثبت نظرت الى الباب والمقاييس وشرع في بناء العرض ان نقول ان الشركة غير صحيح وكان هناك عتبة الباب مع الباب. He indicated that the door could not be installed without the correct threshold part. وأشار الى ان الباب لا يمكن تثبيت الصحيح دون عتبة الباب.
So, the installer we are told left the building supply retailer for another job. ذلك ، والمثبت ويقال لنا ان غادر المبنى العرض للبائع وظيفة اخرى. He didn’t call us to advise us. وقال انه لا اتصل بنا لتقديم المشوره لنا. That’s unfortunate, and a little disrespectful we think. وهذا مؤسف ، وقليل من الاحترام ونحن نعتقد.
And, apparently, the building supply retailer’s person in charge of installation services felt he had to take lunch before calling us to let us know. و، على ما يبدو ، فان بائع بناء العرض للشخص المسؤول عن تركيب الخدمات وقال انه يرى أن تتخذ قبل الغداء يدعونا الى اعلامنا. Oh well. أوه ايضا.
So, no new door today, January 8th. بذلك ، لا من الباب الجديد اليوم ، كانون الثاني / يناير الثامنة. Yet another delay. آخر من التأخير.
New installation date (after having to contact Paul, again)? تثبيت جديد حتى الان (بعد الاتصال بول ، مرة اخرى)؟ January 16th. كانون الثاني / يناير السادس عشر. 
Three and a half months from the date of the order; 4 months from the date of the door measurements order. الثلاثة اشهر ونصف الشهر من تاريخ الامر ؛ 4 اشهر من تاريخ الباب امام قياسات النظام.
You see, here is the problem. ترى ، وهنا المشكلة. The building supply retailer only wanted to deal with one single installation company. بناء العرض اراد البائع الا للتعامل مع تركيب شركة واحدة. If they had a backup installation company we likely not have been in the long wait time for our door. اذا كان لديها التركيب شركة الاحتياطيه ونحن من المحتمل ان لم يكن في وقت لانتظار طويل ابوابنا.
But, we found out we were lied to. ولكن ، اتضح لنا أننا كنا كذبت. What lie? ما هي كذبة؟ Well, the installer is not an employee of the installation company where Paul works. حسنا ، المثبت ليست موظف من تركيب شركة يعمل فيها بول. The actual installer is an independent contractor. الفعلي المثبت هو مقاول مستقل. So what we have is a situation where we contract with the building supply retailer who contracts with an installation company who contracts with independent contractors. فما لدينا هو حالة تكون فيها ونحن مع بناء العرض من بائع تثبيت العقود المبرمه مع شركة من العقود مع المتعاقدين.
Geesh.

not to mention that most doors come assembled..the threshold, sidelight and brick mold are already in place when the door is made. ناهيك عن ان معظم الابواب يأتي تجميعها.. عتبة ، والقرميد الضوء الجانبي القالب بالفعل في المكان عند الباب.
the extra charge for installing the sides should be in question. وقد دفع رسوم إضافية لتركيب الجانبين ينبغي ان يكون السؤال.
so far a good story. حتى الآن قصة جيدة. cannot to read the ending. لا يمكن ان تقرأ المنتهى.

I hope it has an ending. وأمل المنتهيه ولديه. And, I guess ’story’ means fiction. و، احزر 'قصة' يعني الخيال. This is not fiction. وهذا ليس خيالا. This actually happened, and is still happening to us as it’s not over yet. هذا حدث فعلا ، وهو لا يزال يحدث علينا لأنها لم تنته بعد.
