For those frequent visitors to our site, you have read every now and again about our adventures in replacing the front door to our house. هذه لكثرة زوار موقعنا ، كنت أقرأ كل الآن ومرة اخرى حول مغامرات في استبدال الباب الأمامي لبيتنا. We actually thought that it would be finished by now. ونحن في الواقع انه يعتقد ان انتهى الان.

Let’s start at the beginning, shall we? لنبدأ في البداية ، نحن؟

In early September, the fall season had started to bring in cooler days and evenings. في اوائل ايلول / سبتمبر ، فصل الخريف قد بدأ في تحقيق برودة الايام والمساء. Here’s the door as it was when we purchased the house. واليك الباب كما هو اننا عندما اشترى المنزل. The black sides were painted by us as our plan was to originally just paint the door and sides black. الأسود الجانبين التي رسمها لنا خطتنا كما هو في الأصل مجرد طلاء الباب الجانبين والاسود. Then on the weekend, there was a flyer in the local newspaper stating that one of the local big box building supply stores was having a 20% sale on external doors. ثم على عطلة نهاية الاسبوع ، كانت هناك نشره في الصحف المحلية ان واحدا من الاطار المحلي كبيرة لبناء مخازن الامدادات بعد ان تم بيع 20 فى المائة على ابواب الخارجية. And, if that was not enough motivation for us, we would also not have to pay for 12 months, no interest. و، اذا كان هذا هو الدافع ليس كافيا بالنسبة لنا ، كما اننا لا يجب ان تولى لمدة 12 شهرا ، أي اهتمام. Sold. بيع. We felt safe going with the big box building supply store. شعرنا آمنة الذهاب مع الاطار الكبير لبناء مخزن الامدادات.

So, on Thursday September 13, 2007, during my lunch, we (Catherine and I) went to the big box building supply store, armed with the flyer and measurements of the door entrance. ذلك ، وذلك يوم الخميس 13 ايلول / سبتمبر 2007 ، خلال غداء بلدي ، ونحن (كاترين) وانا ذهبت الى مبنى كبير مربع تخزين الامدادات ، مع المسلحه ونشره واجراء قياسات للباب المدخل. We knew we wanted to address the above mentioned issues we had with the current door, but had no other knowledge. وكنا نعلم اننا نريد لمعالجة القضايا المذكورة اعلاه كانت لدينا حاليا مع الباب ، ولكن لم يكن المعارف الأخرى. We had never done this before (like most of the renovations we had undertaken on our home), so everything was new to us. ونحن لم فعلت هذا من قبل (مثل معظم التجديدات ونحن قد اضطلعت على وطننا) ، ولذلك كان كل شيء جديدا بالنسبة لنا.

When we looked at the different models in the door section of the store and talked with the sales associate, we were told that ”You can, but I don’t really recommend you order the door today.” We were also told by the sales associate “The sales price is only for doors ordered this weekend.” وعندما نظرنا في نماذج مختلفة في باب القسم من المتجر وتحدث مع معاون المبيعات ، وقيل لنا ان "يمكنك ، ولكنني لا حقا عليك الباب حتى اليوم." ابلغنا ايضا من المبيعات معاون "ثمن البيع فقط بالنسبة للأبواب وامرت في نهاية هذا الاسبوع."
