Yesterday we set the stage for our attempt to install a levered door handle on the door of the basement bedroom’s closet. Ontem definir o estádio para a nossa tentativa de instalar uma porta levered lidar com a porta do armário do quarto cave.

So, we proceeded with Step 1. Assim, passamos a Etapa 1. Install the latch. Instale o fecho.

When we placed the latch without the face plate into the latch opening in the door we noticed that it did not go all the way into the door, as can be seen from the picture below. You see, we don’t have a chisel which would have been the ideal tool, as we needed to remove some of the wood within the latch opening to allow the latch to all the way into the door. Once we remove just a little of the wood, the latch went all the way in the opening. Depois de retirar um pouco da madeira, o fecho passou toda a forma como a abertura.

Next, the latch face plate. Em seguida, o fecho rosto placa. We choose the latch plate with the rounded corners. Nós escolhemos o fecho placa com os cantos arredondados. So, once again, out came the utility knife to remove just a little of the wood to allow the face place to to fully into place. Well, not yet. Pois bem, ainda não. I simply place the one handle on the outside and align the three shafts from the one handle through the openings of the latch. The square shaft in the middle goes through the latch previously installed per above while the two shafts on the ends of the handle are for the long screws which will be applied into the door handle on the other side of the door. I then align the receiving openings within the other latch, and using my trusty screwdriver I have the screws snug into the door handle in no time. This is going to be easy. What’s next? Qual é o próximo? Well simply apply the face plate on the door frame into the opening on the door frame opposite the latch on the door and we are done.
