The Solaris 24V Cordless, electric self-propelled lawn mower from Linamar Consumer Products has the power of a high-end gas mower, even in long grass.
So what? The product's web site says can run completely on solar energy via it's solar charging station option. No gas emissions. No recharging by plugging into the electrical outlet in the garage.
This new product must be real. Even the National Post published an article about it on Friday April 4, 2008 as did the Toronto Star in their Business section on Saturday April 5, 2008.
UPDATE: We just today, April 18th, connected the solar charging station and see the green flashing light indicating we did it correctly and the 25V solar panel is charging the batteries!
And, as a further update this evening, April 23th, we ran our first 'test run' of the solar charged mower on our lawn and it passed with flying colours!
