100th Anniversary Edition

Can you believe it? We have actually reached our first 100 days with a post every single day. Quite frankly, when we started we never thought about achieving this milestone. If we had we probably would not have even started.

So, we want to do two things in today’s tip.

First, we have to thank the the people from the Authority Blogger Forum for their relentless help in getting our blog off the ground. Specifically, we would like to thank the following who have become our mentors on web site construction and design:

Jen from Domestik Goddess

Sue C. from Lighthouse News

Gui from The Science of Web Art, Design and Development

Ben from Blogging and website tips without the jargon

Second, we wanted to provide our list of our top 5 posts. Based on what criteria you ask? Well, either a post on which we continually receive comments, or a post that has attracted the most comments, or a post which we think could be very helpful to our visitors.

Why are we doing this? Well, with now 100 articles on our site about our renovation experiences it is quite easy to miss some of the ‘golden oldies’.  :-)

So, in no particular order, we present:

1. Colour Coordination Critial - An article about how selecting just the ‘right’ colour can make all the difference when remodeling the rooms in your home.

2. ecoENERGY Report - Part 7 - Recommendations- An article about a relatively new Canadian invention to significantly reduce the amount of energy needed to heat a home’s hot water which we only learned about from our energy audit report received under the ecoENERGY Grant program.

3. ecoENERGY Report - Part 15 - Now What? - Our personal action items for addressing the energy wastage in our home based on both the findings of the energy audit performed on our home and our resultant additional research in the area of home energy conservation.

4. Drop vs Drywall Ceiling - Part 1 - Without a doubt, this has been the most read article by at least 10 to 1 ratio over any other articles (we are still not sure why).

5. Leverage Your Contractor’s Supplier Agreements - At the end of the day, your renovations must not make you go bankrupt; so, do not neglect the financial side of your home renovation with tips such as this.

We hope you enjoy this stroll down memory lane as much as we have!

It’s clear that the work you’ve put into your blog renovation is exceeded only by the work you’ve put into your home renovation - with great success on both counts! What a sense of accomplishment you must have, and rightly so. Well done, Dan - congratulations!
