Today’s home renovation tip is related to the moving of the billiard table.
BEFORE AND AFTER
After many requests we finally have some photo’s to show you on our home. These first two are, obviously, of the billiard table area of our walkout basement.
How is this a tip? Well, do you have any idea how much an over sized (some might say ‘regulation’) billiard table weighs? A lot. And, it needed to be moved from the position it was originally in because we needed to build a wall to create a new bedroom.
So, as mentioned in an earlier post we simply asked our moving company who they used to not only move billiard / pool tables but also to level them. We then called this company and two days later in a short 60 minutes they had the billiard table moved and leveled. If you liked the contractors / service providers used by you earlier in your renovation, and trust their opinions, go back to them and ask who they use for other situations that they don’t service.
For example, ask your kitchen installer if he / she knows anyone for new eave troughs, ask your moving company if they know anyone who re-positions and levels billiard / pool tables, and so on. Referrals can help you avoid contractors who rip people off so you avoid getting ripped off.
But, we wished we had first considered the lighting as mentioned in the earlier post on this. If you look closely at the ceiling light closest to the windows, you might notice that it is next to an enclosed support beam which got in the way of the light’s supporting chain. Had we thought more about this, we would have positioned the table a mere two feet further away from the windows, thus allowing the proper positioning of the lights without any compromise to the lighting fixtures themselves.
