During home renovations or at any time “trust” is a five letter word.Part of our renovation was to replace the carpet in the dining room, kitchen and family room due to the wear and tear and cigarette smoke. We decided to go with a dark hardwood floor to complement the forest outside our backyard.

Baby Robin Videos

In mid-July we had a renovation by Mr. & Mrs. Robin of their nest underneath our deck. Was there home renovation a success?

Yes! In Late July there appeared 4 baby Robins who resided in the renovated nest for 2 and 1/2 weeks before leaving the nest to start their own lives.

Here are two videos captured with nothing more than a digital picture camera of the baby Robins and one of their Parent. Yes, turn the sound up on your computer to hear all of nature's sounds. Enjoy!

#1 Tip - Energy Audits

We are huge fans of having an Energy Efficiency Evaluation (i.e. energy audit) conducted on any home, regardless of size or age. We learned much from our energy audit under the ecoENERGY Residential Retrofit program.

Our 21 year old home's EnerGuide rating is 70 (out of 100) from our energy audit report. We can achieve an EnerGide rating of 80 by undertaking all of the energy audit's recommendations. What is your home's EnerGuide rating? If you don't know, shouldn't you?
